 Scripts that motivate people to take action

It’s proven that sales scripts and writing  scripts will help you to close more sales than if you don’t use them.  Scripting responses to customers is a great way to not get caught like a dear in headlights.  Some sales stars call it a rebuttal, I call it being prepared. Knowing what your customers are  going to say would be nice, having a a well thought out response is even better. Boy scout motto is “always be prepared.”  Here are some scripts that have been created to help with selling and upgrading a technical product through outbound sales.

Example Scripts

“I have to put money on my card”

  • I understand. Can I tell you how much your renewal is right now and we can determine if you have enough funds?
  • When will you be able to move the funds around? Your renewal is due the latest by XXXXX  (Date).

I can do it online

  • That’s right, you can renew manually online.  I am able to verify your renewal price right now and make sure WE renew it on the proper payment method.
  • That’s right, you can renewal manually online.  As a courtesy to our customers to provide the best support, I have taken the time to call you to make sure that your renewal pricing is accurate.

“I have never received a call from your company before. Why are you calling me now?”

  • As a courtesy to our customers to provide the best support, I have taken the time to call you to make sure that your renewal pricing is accurate.
  • I understand you may have never received a call from us before, but that is because this is your first renewal.
  • I understand you may have never received a call from us before. Being the leader in customer service, we thought you would appreciate this call.

“I don’t have time right now, can you call me tomorrow?”

I understand you’re very busy. I promise the call will take less than 30 seconds. We just need to discuss your renewal.

I understand you’re very busy. Your renewal is/or has failed billing. I will be very quick, and this will save you more time. Can we address this now?

I know your time is valuable, that is why I’ll be very quick….

I realize you’re busy.  I am too, but I wanted to give you a chance to save some money on your renewal.  We can be very quick.

“I’m not sure if I’m going to renew”

Why not?

Ok, well let’s look at your account and see if it makes sense for you to renew.

Judging by the commissions you have made, the plan definitely pays for itself. Do you still think that you want to cancel or not renew?

“Won’t it auto renew automatically?”

It might. (pause) ….Let’s take a look at your account and determine that we have the correct information on file.

Yes, our system is smart not enough to give you the deal I am about to offer you.

You may have auto renew on your reseller plan, but to ensure your renewal goes through…… (pause)……my most successful customers always renew over the phone with me.

“I only want the Basic”

Do you know how much more you could have made with being a pro reseller?
